Volunteer Couple at the Heart of Popular Arkansas Calendar Program
Every successful endeavor has great management behind the scenes, and the Arkansas Ducks Unlimited calendar program, also known as the 365 Day Gun Giveaway, is no exception. This wildly popular fundraising program has been going strong for eight years, and in 2020 is expected to surpass 40,000 total calendars sold, with a net/net income of over $1 million. The dynamic duo behind this effort are Matt and Brandy Robinson of Cabot, Arkansas. The Robinsons handle day-to-day data entry, answer questions about the program, assist with calendar distribution, and post daily winners to social media.
Matt and Brandy are the heart and soul of our calendar program and volunteer at countless events each year, but they always put the spotlight and praise on other committee members, says DU Director of Development Corey Dunn. They are a shining example of Team DU in the state of Arkansas.
DU Regional Director Bob Butler echoes this praise for the Robinsons. Their passion for the organization and dedication are absolutely amazing, he says.
As evidence of their humble natures, Matt and Brandy attribute the calendar programs success to the impressive sales force of Arkansas DU volunteers. Without our local volunteers and chapters selling calendars in their communities, we would not have a program where we give away over $250,000 in prizes each year, Matt says.
The Robinsons serve various roles on several DU chapters across Arkansas, and Matt is a past Arkansas state chair. They are Benefactor Sponsors, Grand Slam Life Sponsors, and Presidents Council members as well.
Matt and Brandy enjoy spending time with family and traveling. Their son, Joshua Andrews, is a sophomore and member of the marching band at the University of Central Arkansas. If we dont take time to give back to an organization like DU, our children will never have the opportunities that we have had, Matt says. DU allows people to give back no matter how big or small, and it helps every living creature. The organization has done more for us than weve ever done for it, by introducing us to new friends and business colleagues around the state and across the country.
