Involvement in the outdoors has been a tradition for Delaware Valley University Area Chairman, Amber Wiseman. Raised in a family who supports Ducks Unlimiteds conservation mission, she wanted to be a part of something bigger than just hunting and fishing. This led Wiseman to volunteer for DU. After transferring to Delaware Valley her sophomore year, she found herself taking on the role as the chapter secretary and eventually Area Chairman.

Wiseman had the opportunity to join more than 200 fellow DU collegiate chapter leaders at this years Third Term in August. A rewarding experience that she described as, the best thing I have done in college. The ability to network and establish relationships with peers from across the country made it the trip of a lifetime. Third Term helped me better myself as a leader and gave me the ability to bring back ideas we can now incorporate to our chapter, Wiseman said. I want to incorporate more interactive socials for our committee so that we can grow our friendships further.

The Delaware Valley Chapter participates in various service projects in the surrounding community such as building and maintaining wood duck boxes. However, this past summer they also participated in a Canada goose banding project in conjunction with the Pennsylvania Game Commission. All of the committee members enjoy being involved with service projects because it shows everyone that we care and do our part to conserve our resources, Wiseman added. We arent just a group of hunters and anglers.

The chapter will host their fundraising event in February.
