MEMPHIS, Tenn. - Aug. 24, 2021 - Ducks Unlimited (DU) recently released the latest film in its online series, DU Films.

In this film, the sixth of season 7, DU Films travels to Kansas to visit with former Ducks Unlimited Television (DU TV) co-host and Rock Road Creative founder Zach Pederson and his family.

The film&squo;s story focuses on the Pederson family property in southeastern Kansas and the work they have put into creating outstanding waterfowl habitat. Zach and his father, John Pederson, have patiently turned unproductive ground into moist soil plant impoundments teeming with invertebrates and food attractive to ducks and geese.

"I was fortunate enough to be hired as a DU TV co-host and did that for two seasons,&dquo; Pederson said. "I had the opportunity to hunt all over North America and meet a ton of great people. I got to see Ducks Unlimited from another side and learn from biologists, volunteers - all the people making wetlands conservation happen.&dquo;

The DU wetlands conservation model across North America is the blueprint for the Pederson farm. Water control is key, along with encouraging native moist soil plant species development and unproductive plant material eradication. Many years of following this model has turned the Pederson property into something to be proud of.

"I&squo;m looking forward to sharing this with my grandkids,&dquo; John Pederson said. "It will be great to take them on their first duck hunts and see the sun rise together. I look forward to showing them the wildlife and teaching them to care for and love the outdoors. It will be a great final chapter to my life and a new one for this farm.&dquo;
