Montana's Larry Smith and DU’s Bob Sanders will participate in Montana Ag Live show
Larry Smith, long-time Phillips county rancher and Ducks Unlimited conservation partner, will be the featured guest on Montana Ag Live show Sunday, September 9th. Bob Sanders, DU manager of conservation programs for Montana, will also be part of a panel discussion on how agriculture and conservation can coexist for the benefit of both.
Larry and his wife, Michelle, have endured the highs and lows of production on the Hi-Line for four generations and they personally recommend conservation partnerships. The Smith Family has played a key role in referring thousands of additional acres to become enrolled under DUs conservation initiatives.
Ranchers need grass and water and so do the ducks and other wildlife, Larry said. These (conservation) programs help keep the ranch viable and allow us to pass the operation on to our kids and grandkids.
Montana Ag Live airs Sunday evening, Sept 9 at 6 p.m. The program is a question and answer format, so anyone with questions concerning the topic can phone in at (888) 828-5876.
