A group of duck calls by Tennessee callmakers from the Milligan Collection.

 

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The Milligan Vintage Duck Call Collection, owned and curated by Rick Milligan of Bay Village, Ohio, is on display at the Ducks Unlimited (DU) Waterfowling Heritage Center inside Bass Pro Shops at the Memphis Pyramid through December.

Milligan’s collection showcases classic and contemporary duck calls and duck decoys. It features contributions from duck call makers from 17 states, offering a comprehensive look at the artistry and craftsmanship that defines American waterfowl folk art.

Milligan, an active DU member for the past 15 years, is a past president and treasurer of the Callmakers and Collectors Association of America.

“Rick Milligan’s unique collection of duck calls and decoys lets Waterfowling Heritage Center visitors experience the unique American tradition of duck call making,” said DU Waterfowling Heritage Center Manager Katie Burke. “It is a must-see collection for all waterfowl enthusiasts.”

The Ducks Unlimited Waterfowling Heritage Center, inside Bass Pro Shops at the Memphis Pyramid, opened in 2015. The Waterfowling Heritage Center offers visitors an opportunity to learn about DU, wetlands conservation, waterfowl, the history of waterfowl hunting in North America and the critical role sportsmen and women play in conserving our continent's wildlife and habitat.
