Illinois' Jim Gibson Elected to DU Board
CHICAGO June 29, 2020 Jim Gibson, of Lombard, was recently elected to Ducks Unlimiteds national board of directors.
Ducks Unlimiteds leadership assures our organization conserves, restores and manages wetlands and associated habitats for North America's waterfowl, said DU Board Chairman Rogers Hoyt. Our board members volunteer their time and resources because they are passionate about conservation. I welcome each new board member and look forward to working with them for years to come.
Jim retired from Protiviti, a global consulting firm where he held the titles of Director and Managing Director. He is an active leader in the Orland Park DU chapter located in the Chicago suburbs, a DU Life Sponsor and a Presidents Council member.
Jim is an honor graduate of DePauw University and is a Certified Public Accountant. He shares his extensive business experience to students while having served as adjunct professor at North Central Michigan College, North Central College and Olivet Nazarene University. A lifelong outdoorsman and hunter, Jim is also an Eagle Scout.
Im honored and humbled to be serving on DUs Board of Directors. I take this stewardship responsibility, both for DU and our great outdoors, very seriously and with great passion, Gibson said. I also look forward to chairing DUs Risk Management Committee. As recent events have shown, proactive risk management and mitigation is absolutely critical to ensure DUs future and our ability to accomplish our mission.
For the first time in DU history, board member elections were conducted virtually due to the current COVID-19 pandemic. Officers and new members will be recognized during DUs annual convention in September.
