Dubnik elected to DU Board of Directors
MEMPHIS, Tenn. - March 11, 2022 - Matt Dubnik of Gainesville, Ga., was recently elected to Ducks Unlimited's national board of directors.
"Ducks Unlimited's leadership assures our organization conserves, restores, and manages wetlands and associated habitats for North America's waterfowl," said DU Chairman Rogers Hoyt Jr. "Our board members volunteer their time and resources because they are passionate about conservation. I welcome each new board member and look forward to working with them for years to come."
Dubnik has a long history with Ducks Unlimited, beginning at Georgia Tech. His most recent accomplishment was to serve as DU's Georgia state chairman from 2018-20. Before this accolade, Dubnik served as a Regional Director in Georgia from 2004-2009.
"Ducks Unlimited has been part of my life since my junior year in college when I started the collegiate chapter at Georgia Tech. Everything I own has a duck head on it," Dubnik said. "Both of my sons live for trips to our duck club in Arkansas. Waterfowling is not something I grew up with, but it has become a major part of my life. I am humbled by the opportunity to give back to an organization that has given me so much, and I look forward to my tenure on the board. I believe the next ten years are going to bring unparalleled support for DU, which will translate into unrivaled habitat delivery across North America."
Dubnik is in business with his wife, Katie, who started Forum Communications in 2012. They raise their two boys, James (12) and Davis (9), in Gainseville, Ga., just as their parents raised both Matt and Katie. Matt Dubnik is a graduate of Georgia Tech, where he is a trustee for the Georgia Tech Alumni Association. He has served his community in the Georgia House of Representatives since 2017 and is currently the chairman of the House Education Committee. In his free time, he enjoys time with his family, the mountains of north Georgia, cheering on his beloved Yellow Jackets, cooking and learning all there is about wine.
