Waterfowl Band Return Maps by State & Province

Explore North American waterfowl migration with this interactive map, which illustrates where birds were originally banded and where they were later harvested and reported by hunters. The ‘Recoveries by state’ view lets you see where banded birds have been harvested, while the ‘Where recovered birds were banded’ view shows the original banding locations of harvested birds.

Customize your view by using the side panel to select which state/province you would like to view, as well as what species or waterfowl group, along with the month and year that it was harvested. Maps update automatically based on your choices and can also be downloaded.

To improve performance, each map displays up to 1,000 randomly selected points per species/group per state. To ensure privacy and data security, zoom functionality is intentionally limited.
