Join a movement that’s shaping the future of wetlands conservation. Discover how you can make a difference with DU Varsity.
DU Varsity is Ducks Unlimited's high school program, and its chapters focus on conserving North America’s wetlands, but the benefits extend beyond environmental impact. Student volunteers gain invaluable experience in teamwork, leadership, planning, budgeting, and problem-solving. These students not only contribute to conservation efforts but also build essential life skills that will serve them in both education and future careers.
Parents, families, and communities also benefit from DU Varsity’s family-friendly events, which are open to all. Whether they’re passionate about conservation, interested in raffles and auctions, or simply enjoying the community, everyone is welcome at DU Varsity events. Ducks Unlimited encourages people from all walks of life to support its mission to conserve and restore North America’s wetlands.
A Ducks Unlimited Varsity Chapter helps raise funds to develop, maintain, and conserve waterfowl habitats across North America while building a local image for Ducks Unlimited. High school students who volunteer with DU Varsity develop a strong understanding of wild landscapes and their benefits. Additionally, members acquire life and leadership skills that will serve them well throughout their educational and career journeys. No matter their interests, every student can find value in being part of a Ducks Unlimited Varsity chapter.
The Varsity All-Star Award recognizes DU Varsity chapters that excel in fundraising each year. These chapters are honored at the Ducks Unlimited National Convention and featured in Ducks Unlimited magazine. Chapters are recognized based on their fundraising levels:

Starting a DU Varsity chapter is straightforward and only requires a few dedicated individuals. The process begins with working alongside your local Youth Engagement Coordinator or Regional Director, along with your high school administration, to gain approval for registering DU Varsity as an official school club. You’ll also need a faculty member to serve as the Student Advisor. Once these steps are completed, students can recruit additional members, plan events, and start contributing to Ducks Unlimited’s mission.
With these three simple steps, your local DU Varsity chapter will be well on its way to success!
