Working lands program with NAWCA
Funding from the North American Wetlands Conservation Act (NAWCA) provides cost-share for the long-term protection of wetlands and uplands needed by waterfowl and other migratory birds in North America. Producers can increase productivity of grassland acres while also increasing herd size using rotational grazing systems. Through Ducks Unlimiteds NAWCA programs, landowners can install grazing infrastructure to facilitate rotational grazing practices to revitalize upland acres in North Dakota that benefit prairie, livestock, wetlands and wildlife. Landowners with marginal cropland can use NAWCA cost-share to replant degraded acres to a diverse, native grass stand intended for grazing.
