It wouldnt be a stretch to claim that Rob Fehr Jr. has duck hunting in his blood. Born and raised in Salt Lake City, Utah, Fehr comes from a long lineage of Utah waterfowl hunters, including his great-grandfather, grandfather and father. It was his dad, Bob Fehr Sr., who exposed him to waterfowl hunting for the first time at the age of six, and the two have been heading out to the blinds ever since.
When I was 11, right before I could start shooting, my dad bought my first Ducks Unlimited membership and brought me to my first DU banquet, said Rob. It was something I grew to love fairly quickly.
Luckily for DU, Rob decided to step up his level of commitment within Ducks Unlimited by becoming a volunteer after attending the 2003 National Convention with his younger brother, and is now the State Chairman for Utah. Ive met some amazing people in this organization, both nationally and locally that are great friends now. I wouldnt trade it for anything. And Ive seen firsthand what DU has put on the ground, both here in the U.S. and up in Canada.
Fehr lives in Sandy, Utah, with his wife, Nicole, and son, Casey, and is also currently the area chair for the Salt Lake City region and on the state committee. He has high hopes for Utah in 2017 in terms of recruiting passionate volunteers.
Im looking for people with a similar passion towards what Ive come to love so deeply. I hope that enthusiasm rubs off on others so they feel the same thingthe drive and the want to continue with the great organization that DU truly is.
