The Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College (ABAC) chapter, located in Tifton, Georgia, is a small but powerful collegiate chapter for Ducks Unlimited. The chapter was originally started in 2006 by Brice Crawford, who now serves as DU regional director for central Georgia. In 2015, after sitting idle for several years, the ABAC chapter was revitalized by Hunter Brannon with the help of several other dedicated volunteers.

Brannon grew up attending local DU events with friends and family and was involved in his high school chapter at Pike County High School in Pike County, Georgia. His experience volunteering at the high school level gave him the confidence he needed to rebuild the ABAC chapter.

I grew up with DU and felt led to support the organization by getting students involved and teaching them about the importance of conservation, Brannon said. My goal is to one day attend an ABAC chapter event after graduation and help support the volunteers and the mission of Ducks Unlimited.

This past year the ABAC chapter raised more than $15,000, doubling what they raised the year prior. Brannon attributes the events success to the committees promotion of the event within the local business community, in addition to the students diverse academic background.
