Ducks Unlimited

As many of you know, conservation efforts are significantly funded by the Wildlife Restoration Act or the Pittman-Robertson Act. This act places an excise tax on firearms, ammunition, and archery equipment. Hunters and recreational shooters contribute to conservation with each purchase of these items, meaning that increasing participation in hunting and shooting sports has a positive impact on conservation efforts. This aligns with the broader R3 Initiative: Recruitment, Retention, and Reactivation of hunters and shooting sports participants.

Ducks Unlimited (DU) has created the Team Resource Assistance Program (T.R.A.P.) as our contribution to the R3 movement. After consulting with various youth shooting sports leagues, we discovered that many teams face funding challenges for their operations. The DU T.R.A.P. program supports high school and collegiate shooting teams in their fundraising efforts. Through T.R.A.P., teams gain access to discounted DU merchandise and professionally designed marketing materials, which enable them to raise funds more efficiently while keeping 100 percent of the net revenue. This program ensures that shooting sports teams can achieve their goals while promoting conservation and enjoying a streamlined fundraising process.

DU is proud to have several industry leaders as sponsors of the 2024-25 DU T.R.A.P. program. This year's sponsors include Citadel, Howa, Mossberg, Pointer, Reeds Family Outdoor Outfitters, Retay, Vortex, and Wiley-X. Our generous sponsors help offset the cost of the T.R.A.P. program, allowing DU to offer teams a turnkey fundraising package for less than what they could pay locally for the prizes alone.
