Ducks Unlimited recently celebrated the life, volunteer work and philanthropy of Pat Nolan at a Montana event. The Nolan Tribute raised more than $750,000 for conservation in Montana and across the prairies of the U.S. A newly constructed disability friendly hunting blind and bronze plaque listing tribute supporters will be dedicated in his honor at Medicine Lake National Wildlife Refuge.

Pat served DU in local, regional and national positions until he passed away in 2015 from multiple sclerosis complications. He and his wife, Ellie, supported Ducks Unlimiteds conservation programs across the flyways, but the Prairie Pothole Region held a special place in Pats heart for its importance to waterfowl populations. Living in Montana for his last decades, and witnessing the states role as one of the largest U.S. producer of ducks, furthered his love of the prairies.
