For Bill and Zoe Hopkins, hunting and fishing go hand in hand with the importance of caring for our natural resources. The couple has deep roots in the outdoor sports and conservation communities. When Zoe was just 14 years old, her family sold their Texas ranch acreage to the Nature Conservancy for what eventually became a part of Anahuac National Wildlife Refuge. This vast expanse of coastal marsh and prairie bordering Galveston Bay is home to countless wildlife species and native flora. Generations of Zoes family enjoyed and relied on the lands bounty while acknowledging the need for conservation.

Bills love of the outdoors also came from family. He has enjoyed years of hunting and fishing from Alaska to Argentina. His favorite hunting memories took place in and around the Texas Gulf Coast from Trinity Bay south to San Antonio Bay.

Bills grandfather, Charles Geelan, was part of a long family tradition of hunting and fishing and giving back to the resource.

After successful careers, Bill and Zoe now enjoy retirement in Punta Gorda, Florida. Together, they stay busy volunteering, golfing, and fishing in Charlotte Harbor. Additionally, the couple spearheaded an effort to have their golf course certified as a sanctuary through Audubon International, implementing the kind of management practices required to achieve the highest standards of environmental sustainability.

As part of their dedication to conservation and love of the outdoors, Bill and Zoe have included Ducks Unlimited in their estate plan.
