Memphis, Tenn. - September 6, 2017 - Josh Voelker was named Ducks Unlimited's (DU) Regional Director of the Year for his outstanding efforts as a staff member of Region 6, an area that encompasses Mid-Atlantic and New England states.
"Josh does a great job working with his volunteer partners strengthening his committees with active recruitment efforts and activities, said Joe Rowan, DU director of fundraising and volunteer relations. "Maryland Ducks Unlimited has seen tremendous growth in both event members and volunteers."
Voelker, a resident of Chester, Md., works with volunteer committees in Maryland hosting fundraisers for the 80-year-old conservation organization. Voelker also received awards for Event Attendance Growth, Event Attendance Percentage Growth, and the Grand Slam award.
DU is the leader in wetlands conservation and volunteers are the heart and soul of the organization. Through 4,000 local fund-raising events DU volunteers generate more than 500,000 memberships and more than $53 million annually.
