Kankakee Valley Chapter - Beretta 687 O/U Set Auction
Complete 12, 20, 28, .410 Beretta 687 EL Auction
Complete 12, 20, 28, .410 Beretta 687 EL Auction
The Kankakee Valley Chapter of Ducks Unlimited is offering a unique opportunity for any collector of fine firearms. As a result of a generous donation, KVDU is able to offer four matched Ducks Unlimited Edition Beretta 687 EL shotguns in the gauges 12, 20, 28, and .410. In addition to the firearms with individual fitted Beretta cases and documentary paperwork, a custom oak display case is offered as well.
The Beretta 687 EL is a high grade shotgun eclipsed only by the EELL grade. This model is based on the enormously popular and rugged 680 series. The primary difference in the 687 series is the addition of side-plates to provide a larger palate for enhanced engraving. These side-plates are purely ornamental as these actions retain Beretta's proven and reliable box-lock action. Parts for these guns will remain available because of the popularity of the 680 series and the parts are interchangeable between the different series.
The DU 687 EL's are a very unique subset of 687's offered to the public and were limited to 2500 serial numbers in each gauge. These firearms all have oil finished stocks, French gray receivers as well as high luster bluing on the barrels and trim pieces. Each gun was shipped with its own individual case and supporting documents. Another unique aspect of this series was that only one gauge was distributed per year. Finding one of these models for sale is not uncommon, however, finding all four years ('89 through '92) together is truly a rare occurrence.
These fine guns are estimated to be valued together at $11,000 to $15,000. The custom crafted gun cabinet is equally as spectacular in its own right and has been estimated to be valued between $3,000 and $5,000. These unique shotguns and the one of a kind custom cabinet will be auctioned at the KVDU spring banquet on March 21, 2015 in LaPorte, Indiana. To be auctioned as a "set" and there is NO RESERVE. Do not miss this once in a lifetime opportunity!
