Ducks Unlimited is more than 75 percent through its most ambitious habitat conservation fundraising campaign ever, Rescue our Wetlands, banding together for waterfowl. Seeking to raise $2 billion for our mission, DU Inc., DU Canada, DUMAC and Wetlands America Trust are invested in this campaign, which involves private, corporate, foundation and public fundraising. We are elated to share that we are at $1.82 billion, as of June 30.
Like DUs founders 80 years ago, Ducks Unlimited staff are ready to step up for the ducks. In fact, Chief Executive Officer Dale Hall challenged DU staff to personally invest $4 million in new commitments or cash toward the campaign, while also seeking 100 percent participation. Participation could mean becoming a member of DU if not already or increasing annual giving if a sponsor, for example moving from a $250 bronze level to $500 silver or $1,000 gold. Another option is to become or upgrade to a major sponsor level, that is a life sponsor and above $10,000.
While the official numbers are not yet ready, we are well on our way to achieving these impressive fundraising goals. For a staff that numbers just more than 500, Ducks Unlimited is proud to join with our partners to make a meaningful impacts to the Rescue our Wetlands campaign and our habitat conservation mission.
