Ducks Unlimited is working with the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency (TWRA) to continue enhancements to Eagle Lake Refuge in Shelby County. Six shallow water impoundments were enhanced through a North American Wetlands Conservation Act (NAWCA) grant last year. Thanks to leveraging of DU dollars with Pittman-Robertson funds from the state, the partners are installing water wells and purchasing two trailer-mounted diesel power units. These additions will provide a dependable water supply for the impoundments and facilitate habitat management for waterfowl and other wetland-dependent species.
