MILLBROOK, New York Sept. 22, 2017 The Dutchess County Ducks Unlimited Chapter will hold its 5th Annual Great Swamp Clays and Conservation Program on Sept. 30, at Tamarack Preserve, a private hunting and fishing preserve in Millbrook, N.Y.

Proceeds from this event will support the vital conservation work of Ducks Unlimited, a national organization dedicated to wetland habitat restoration and protection. This years event title sponsor is Seaport Global Securities.

Ducks Unlimited's partnership with Dutchess Land Conservancy reminds us of the importance of conserving the wetlands habitat of the Great Swamp," said Mike Meagher, Co-CEO of Seaport Global.

The event is from 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and will feature sporting clays, outdoor programs, exhibitors and conservation presentations in association with Dutchess Land Conservancy. Breakfast and pig roast lunch are included in the price of tickets.

A live auction will offer several exciting prizes, including:

  • flyfishing at Chime Lodge, Patagonia.
  • a day of sport at Tamarack Preserve.
  • a guided shoot for two service-disabled veterans at Tamarack Preserve.
  • a Dakota Meyer Limited Edition Production 1911 pistol.
  • a Beretta shotgun

Tickets cost $250 for an adult shooter and $50 for shooters ages 12 to 16. Tickets for non-shooters are $100 and are for conservationists and outdoor recreationists who wish to actively support the protection and conservation of waterfowl habitat. Youth shooters must be accompanied by an adult shooter.

At the event, the Dutchess County Ducks Unlimited Chapter will present its Wetlands Conservation Award to Gretchen Stevens, director of the Biodiversity Resources Center at Hudsonia. The chapter will present its first Wetlands Remediation Award to Cricket Valley Energy.
