MEMPHIS, Tenn. March 8, 2019 Jim Ronquests work sharing waterfowl and wetlands conservation with the masses has resulted in raised awareness and participation in the wildlife management mission. Ducks Unlimited paid tribute to Jim Ronquests efforts by giving him the 2019 Ducks Unlimited Conservation Communications Award.

Ronquest was honored today during the 84th North American Wildlife and Natural Resources Conference held in Denver, Colorado.

DUs 2019 Wetland Conservation Achievement Awards were presented in six categories and recognized individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the conservation and restoration of North Americas wetlands and waterfowl.

Spreading the conservation message to the public is vital to our mission, said Ducks Unlimited Director of Communications James Powell. Jims ability to communicate to a wide variety of people, especially within the waterfowling world, makes him an asset for the conservation community.

Ronquests commitment to conservation began many years ago with a childhood love of hunting and the outdoors. He won numerous duck calling titles and became World Duck Calling Champion in 2006. After that, he used his skills to produce the RNT-V outdoor television show for Rich-N-Tone Duck Calls.

Whether on television, radio, or in person, Jim has shared science-based waterfowl habitat management with the audience. He believes viewer and listener education is the key to habitat management. Ronquests relationships with wildlife managers and scientists make him a liaison between resource managers and the public.
He educates todays youth through duck calling clinics where he not only teaches calling but the ethical outdoors lifestyle.

Every year dedicated conservation professionals are nominated for these awards. Nominees and those selected for recognition represent how people with a shared passion can achieve great things for wetlands and waterfowl conservation, Ducks Unlimited Chief Conservation Officer Nick Wiley said.
