BROOKINGS, S.D. June 11, 2020 Ducks Unlimited, in partnership with the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation, announces a unique learning opportunity for South Dakota agricultural producers. Thirty three scholarships are available to attend either Soil Health Academy schools or receive consulting services from Understanding Ag, LLC.

This is a great opportunity for South Dakota producers to receive hands-on education and experience from some of the world leaders in regenerative agriculture, says DU Agronomist Brian Chatham.

The Soil Health Academy schools offer three-day workshops, with on-site demonstrations on the core principles of soil health, farm profitability and regenerative agriculture. The group that organizes the training, Understanding Ag, also provides consultation services intended to increase ecosystem health, livestock husbandry, resource management and business growth.

We believe these programs will increase adoption of soil health principles in our state, leading to more sustainable farms, increased diversity and more habitat for wildlife, Chatham said.

The $750 scholarships are available at www.soilhealthacademy.org on a first-come, first-served basis. For more information, visit www.understandingag.com, or contact Brian Chatham at 701-301-7538 or bchatham@ducks.org.
