Dave Hinman elected to Ducks Unlimited's national board of directors
Sacramento, Calif. - June 25, 2015 - Dave Hinman, of Pleasanton, Calif., was elected to Ducks Unlimited's national board of directors during the organization's annual convention held recently in Milwaukee.
"The leadership of our board of directors ensures we are fulfilling our mission to conserve, restore and manage wetlands and associated habitats for North America's waterfowl," said DU CEO Dale Hall. "Our board members are not paid for their work; rather they volunteer their time and resources because they feel so strongly about conservation. I welcome each new member and look forward to working with them in the years to come."
Hinman, a Bay Area contractor for 33 years, was born in Greeley, Colorado and raised in Fremont, Calif., and has been a duck hunter since 2003. Shortly after joining DU in 2004, Hinman founded the Tri Valley Chapter, later becoming the treasurer and co-chair for three years, as well as the main fundraiser and underwriter for the event. Dave is also a member of DU's Conservation Programs Committee.
In addition to the elections of volunteer leadership, this year's convention featured presentations by U.S. Secretary of Agriculture, Tom Vilsack; Virtual Instruments CEO, John Thompson and Caterpillar Inc. CEO, Doug Oberhelman. Next year's convention will be held in Anchorage, Alaska, June 1-5.
