Utahs Chesapeake Duck Club was incorporated on December 14, 1903. Today, the club encompasses 4,081 acres of wetlands and waterfowl-friendly agricultural lands in Utahs beautiful Bear River Marsh.
A century after the clubs founding, during a special reception at the 2003 Ducks Unlimited National Convention in Salt Lake City, 19 members of the Chesapeake Duck Club confirmed their support for wetlands and waterfowl by signing up as DU Life Sponsors. And now members of the club have again renewed their commitment to the expanding conservation endeavors of DU in Utah, with 14 members becoming new Life Sponsors and three members upgrading their Major Sponsor level.
In Utah, the New State Duck Club and Chesapeake Duck Club have demonstrated that they are truly leaders in wetlands conservation, with 37 new Major Sponsor commitments in the past year.
DU volunteer and Benefactor Major Sponsor Carroll Dolson says, Our next goal is to encourage other duck clubs in Utah to support DUs efforts to improve the Great Salt Lake and its wetlands.
