More than 100 people gathered at southwest Louisiana's Pointe-aux-Chenes Wildlife Management Area in November to dedicate a recently completed $1.2 million coastal wetland restoration in honor of DU Benefactors Ron and Jackie Bartels of Schriever, Louisiana. This project will provide vital wintering habitat for a variety of waterfowl and other migratory birds. Ron and Jackie have been active DU volunteers for many years. Ron currently serves as DU's advisory senior vice president for membership.
