Weber Wetland Restoration Project Completed in Nebraska
Ducks Unlimited completed a wetland restoration and enhancement project on a property near Bridgeport, Nebraska. The property holds special meaning for its owners, Jim and Peggy Weber, because it once belonged to Jim's parents.
Harold and Therese Weber purchased the property in 1972. An avid outdoorsman, Harold dreamed of restoring the property's wetlands so these habitats could once again attract waterfowl and other wildlife. Unfortunately, he didn't live long enough to see his dream become reality.
Several years ago, however, Jim and Peggy got serious about restoring the property and sought help from DU and other partners, including the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Nebraska Environmental Trust, and the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
