Ducks Unlimited and the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries recently wrapped up a project to improve water-management capabilities on more than 1,100 acres on Ouachita Wildlife Management Area near Monroe, Louisiana. DU installed a new pump capable of delivering 16,000 gallons of water per minute. This pump will provide reliable water to a green-tree reservoir and agricultural and moist-soil habitats managed for waterfowl and open to public hunting. DU's other partners in this project included the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, and Conoco Phillips.
