Ducks Unlimited recently completed a project to improve water-level management on Alligator River National Wildlife Refuge in eastern North Carolina. The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service hired DU to replace outmoded pump stations on Creef and Laurel bays. The new pumps will improve water-level management capabilities on more than 6,600 acres of agricultural fields that are annually flooded for wintering waterfowl.
