Our mobile app has served you well for years, but it was time for a refresh. The DU app has been rebuilt from the ground up for today’s devices — faster, more reliable, and designed to feel right at home on your phone. You’ll still find all the familiar tools you count on, plus a foundation that lets us restore fan favorites like offline journal and MyDU, and roll out new features faster than ever.
With this update, we no longer take you out of the app to access your journal. The experience is the same as on the website, but it should feel more seamless. In the coming months, we will be testing a new experience that brings your journal back into the mobile app with offline capability!
The latest version of the Ducks Unlimited app uses the same experience as ducks.org/migrationmap. In an upcoming update, we will move the migration map back into the app and give you an even better experience, whether you want to submit or view reports.
This new update will hopefully make it easier for you to navigate our app while you are using it – whether at home or in the blind. Your most useful features can be found in the new bottom navigation bar, including the Hunting Journal, Sunrise/Sunset, Migration Map, and MyDU. Anything that cannot be found there or on the home screen can be accessed through the main menu (three horizontal lines) in the top-right corner of your screen.
The Ducks Unlimited mobile app uses your location only for the Sunrise/Sunset feature. This allows you to select “Use current location” within Sunrise/Sunset, and the app will automatically update the data it is showing you. We send important notifications out through the app sometimes, so we highly recommend that you allow notification permission to stay up to date!
