There are very few events that you would look out of place in khakis and a golf shirt, and those (more formal) events are usually pretty obvious in their description.
I go to probably 25-50 events every year; everything from the National Convention to a local fish fry, and I usually wear whatever slacks I wore to work (I work in an office) plus whatever DU shirt I stuck in my car. Mostly they are button up the front shirts, but I sure have a few golf type shirts as well. For the National Convention banquet, most people will be in suits and ties, but some will not
For aome WHP/SNO events you get a free raffle ticket for wearing camo and/or blaze orange clothing, but I keep that stuff in the car anyway. You may see me in a fancy paire of slacks and a wrinkled up camo T-shirt at one of these, so say hi.
