Since 2004, South Dakota Chevrolet dealers have sponsored the wetland conservation mission of South Dakota Ducks Unlimited volunteers. Together, we have raised over $100,000 for that purpose. In addition, three different South Dakota DU members have won new Chevrolet 4X4 trucks as annual grand prizes. We take great pride in this partnership's contribution to preserving North America's wetlands and their waterfowl, wildlife and water resources for future generations.
This year at each event in 2007 a framed photo of a black labrador retriever will be won by a DU member who has entered in the Dogs, Ducks & Chevy Truck raffle. This black labrador retriever image is a multi-pass digital image often referred to as "giclee". It is an original, high resolution digital photo on canvas, hand coated with a gel to provide original oil artwork texture and is personally signed by the artist. This is the first in a series of three limited edition retriever images to be produced in consecutive years for this program. The succeeding years will feature a yellow Labrador retriever and a chocolate Labrador retriever. This artwork is specifically commissioned for this program and is not available for any retail or wholesale purchasing or sales. Images in this collection are retired from future printing.
The artist is Lee Thomas Kjos who is one of America's leading sporting dog and outdoor photographers. His work is regularly seen on covers and inside the most popular hunting and outdoor publications in the country including Ducks Unlimited magazine.
